The following wireless networks are provided at OSU locations:

  • Eduroam (preferred choice for all ONID account holders)
  • Visitor (not available in residence halls)
  • OSU_Secure (deprecated, not recommended for general use)
  • OSU_Access (deprecated, not secure, not recommended)
  • OSU_Unsecured (available in residence halls only)

The Eduroam and OSU_Secure are configured the same way and provide access to the same resources. However the Eduroam network also allows users to connect at other participating institutions across the U.S. and around the globe. For this reason, we recommend OSU students and employees configure their devices to connect to Eduroam using the OSU WiFi on-boarding tool.
